Rookie Division for 5-8* Year Old's
Weekday Evening Games – 5:30pm CP or Lower Field
Tentatively scheduled starting mid July through late August
Tryouts TBD, Lower Field. Draft TBD.
3-4 Teams of 12 Players
Players will be required to tryout. Teams will be drafted.
5 Weeks, 8 Games, plus 1-2 playoff games. 2 games per week.
Players provided hat and jersey. They keep hat and return jersey.
6 Inning Games. First 4 innings pitching machine, Last 2 innings kid pitch.
4 run max per inning except last inning open. 12 Run Mercy Rule after 4 innings.
2 hr time limit, no new inning can start after 7:30. Managers and umpires need to declare an early last inning before the top of the inning starts in the likelihood it will not complete before 7:30 so that open run rule can apply.
Max 1 inning pitching for a player in a game. 1 pitch in an inning constitutes a full inning pitched.
Other than modifications above, MIYBL Local Rookie Rules Apply.
Baseball playing age is age of player on April 30th of this year.

* It is recommended that 8 year old's play in the Minor division as they will be playing in Minor the following Spring. The experience they gain will be very valuable to them. However, if you feel your player will be better off getting more experience in Rookie, that may be acceptable as well. If, after tryouts, the managers and league officials believe an 8 year old may pose a safety risk to the younger 5 & 6 year old players, we will insist that that 8 year old play up in the minor division.

MIYBL's Spring Season's Registration Fees are subsidized by mandatory raffle ticket sales ($30) and mandatory tag day fundraiser ($25).
Summer League will NOT be subsidized by Mandatory Fundraisers
Summer Registration Fee's per division represent actual cost to execute the division with very little room for budgeting error.
