Maplewood Tee Ball
Welcome to Maplewood Independent Youth Baseball League!
You’ve made a great choice in entrusting your child to the MIYBL community. We offer a comprehensive program that provides instruction for an average of 500 children per season from our Cal Ripken divisions (ages 4-12), through our Babe Ruth divisions (ages 13-18). MIYBL is a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable organization established in 1996 that is operated exclusively by volunteers. Our main objectives for your child are to instill the qualities of good sportsmanship, teamwork, respect for authority, and the importance of rigorous physical activity to staying healthy. Of course, all of this is accomplished while having fun learning and playing baseball!

- Cleats may be hard to find for smaller feet. For these children, sneakers are fine.
- Helmet not required in Tee Ball. However, if you do make the investment, a facemask is required in upper divisions.
- All volunteers that directly interact with your child on behalf of the league must pass a CORI check in accordance with Massachusetts state law. All CORI checked volunteers will have a picture badge ID provided by the league.
Tee ball games are 1 hour long on Saturdays 3:00 or 4:00. Occasionally there are Sunday games scheduled for 3:00
Practrices are up to the team managers discretion, but typically are 1 hour on a weekday evening on open space at the park, not on a field as league games are occuring at those times.
There are two mandatory fundraisers per season, the banquet raffle tickets that are due before your child will receive their uniform and tag day. Tag day is where the kids solicit donations at local businesses in their full uniform. You have the option to "buy out" of tag day for your child for $25
